2025 Update to Employee and Family Assistance Provider

Effective November 1, 2025

We are making a change to our provider for the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP).

What’s changing:

Effective November 1, 2025, TELUS Health will no longer manage our EFAP program. We are transitioning to a new partner, Homewood Health. Employees will now have access to a full range of health and wellness services available under our new EFAP Program.

Why the change?

We continuously evaluate our benefits to ensure they meet your needs. The Homewood Health EFAP program includes not only Counselling Services – for when you need professional help with a challenging situation – but also Life Smart Coaching Services, a suite of work-life services for when you want expert advice, information, and coaching that you can access and use in your own way. Counselling services are available in person, by phone or video, or via online e-counselling (message exchanges or real-time chat).

Life Smart Coaching includes caregiving, life planning, health management, and career management services. Each of the services has been developed to allow you to take a proactive approach to managing everyday challenges and life transitions, and to receive information and support, suited to your unique situation.

In addition to Counselling and Life Smart Coaching, the Homewood Health EFAP program offers access to a new innovative online experience called Pathfinder. Pathfinder is integrated into your experience on Homewood’s online mental health platform Homeweb.ca.

Employees also have access to a variety of online resources to help you take charge of your health and well-being. These include:

  • E-Courses, practical learning for improving personal wellness, life skills, and workplace effectiveness
  • Sentio, a self-paced online CBT program for depression and anxiety
  • Health and Wellness Library, a collection of articles and tools, alongside information on drugs, diseases, natural products, tests and procedures, and general health
  • Health Risk Assessment, an interactive tool for evaluating health history and lifestyle habits; and more!

What this means for you

Effective November 1, 2025, employees, and their immediate family, may call Homewood Health at 1-800-663-1142, anytime 365 days of the year. Please be assured that when you use the program, it is completely confidential. For more information, please refer to homeweb.ca and homewoodhealth.com.
