Answering your questions about the new MyMohawk! Coming Summer 2023.
MyMohawk is being upgraded to a new platform to provide users with enhanced functionality and a better experience. The new platform will keep the MyMohawk name when it launches this summer in time for the start of the new academic year in September.
Since announcing the change to the new platform, we’ve heard from a few employees with questions about how the change will affect them. Below are answers to the most frequently asked questions.
Q: Why does MyMohawk need to be upgraded?
A: The platform that MyMohawk currently resides on, Ellucian Luminis, has reached end of life and will no longer be supported. When platforms like this are not being supported, updates/enhancements or new features are no longer possible, and the platform poses an IT security risk.
Q: Will I need to learn how to use the new MyMohawk?
A: At launch, the new MyMohawk will look very similar to the experience you’re used to. The layout, page content and overall experience will remain largely unchanged, and your login will remain the same.
Q: What new features will be available?
A: A new search function is being developed that allows users to quickly and easily search for what they are looking for. Additional features will continue to be added post-launch that enhance the user experience and better integrate other college systems such as Banner and MyCanvas. Details on these features will be communicated at a later date.
Q: I am a content editor. Will training be provided for the new platform?
A: Yes. The Marketing & Creative Services team will be providing training for designated content editors and will reach out to schedule this training at some point following the launch.
