Athletics Facilities Reopening

Mohawk Athletics is pleased to announce that we will be reopening the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre (DBARC) to select groups as of Monday, Aug. 9, 2021. The period of August 9 to September 3, will be a soft launch prior to resuming full operations of the DBARC and Stoney Creek Fitness Centre on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021. Reopening Details

Athletics will be taking a phased approach to reopening and testing new systems, procedures and facility layouts while training a new student staff team.

The hours of operation for the soft launch period will be Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm with facilities being closed on the weekend. Both the fitness centre and gymnasium will be available for use.

Staff Invitation

Athletics is opening an invitation to all part-time and full-time staff and faculty to use our facilities as one of the targeted user groups. This invitation will extend from Monday, Aug. 16 to Friday, Sept. 3. A membership will not be required and use of the facilities will be free for the soft launch period.

Facility Access & Parking
All users must complete the Mountaineers Indoor Fitness Reservation for each day they intend on visiting DBARC. All users must also complete the Mohawk Safety App Covid-19 screening assessment each day prior to coming on campus. Please remember to enter you employee/student ID number under the contact information section of the app.  Users may check-in at a variety of Security checkpoints across campus.

Equipment Spacing and Rental Information
For your safety and convenience, fitness centre equipment has been spaced to adhere to provincial guidelines. Equipment rentals, such as basketballs, will be available for loan at the customer service desk.

Mask Protocol
Aligning with current provincial regulations and municipal bylaws, all DBARC users must wear a mask when coming onto campus and entering into the DBARC, but may remove their masks during exercise.
