Celebrating International Education Week at Mohawk College
Every November, colleges and universities across Canada and around the world come together to celebrate International Education Week (IEW), a global initiative that recognizes the value of international learning, cultural exchange, and global engagement. At Mohawk College, IEW is an opportunity to highlight the transformative impact of studying abroad, welcoming international students, and creating a campus where global perspectives thrive.
This year, Mohawk College is proud to mark IEW with two weeks of engaging activities and cultural experiences. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to join us as we celebrate our diverse community and explore opportunities that take learning far beyond the classroom.
As Mohawk College continues to build a more globally engaged and future-ready institution, we are proud to announce the launch of Beyond Borders.
Beyond Borders represents what’s possible when we connect global thinking with local action, creating opportunities for collaboration and impact that reach across geographical and cultural borders. This initiative expands how our students, faculty, and staff engage with the world, bringing together international field studies, a new general education course, collaborative virtual projects, and capacity-development initiatives that connect learning to real-world challenges. Join us in celebrating this exciting milestone during IEW and learn more about how Beyond Borders is creating new pathways for connection, innovation, and global impact.
International Education Week reminds us that global learning is more than travel, it’s about expanding perspectives, building connections, and creating impact that reaches beyond borders. Beyond Borders brings this vision to life by connecting global thinking with local action, giving our students, faculty, and staff new ways to collaborate, learn, and lead” (Thea Laidman, AVP International and Partnerships)
