Clean sweep for Mohawk College Graphic Design students at Skills Ontario Competition

Three students from Mohawk College's Graphic Design program took Gold, Silver and Bronze at this week's 2021 Virtual Skills Ontario Competition.

Abby Kompare, Michaella Fortune (Kruizinga) and Shaista Odaidullah took Gold, Silver and Bronze, respectively, in the Graphic Design - Studio Production competition. As the Gold medal winner, Abby will represent Mohawk College 2021 Canada Virtual National Competition being held on May 26 and May 27. The students were coached by Mohawk College Graphic Design Professor, Kristen Hickey.

 

For the competition, the students were asked to desing a logo, sock wrap and three sock designs for a company called "No Cold Feet". Watch the YouTube video linked below to see all of this year's submissions.

Fun Fact: As part of this year's Skills Ontario is attempting to set a Guiness World Record for the Largest Online Video Chain of People Passing and Using a Screwdriver! The event is open to anyone to participate. For more information visit: https://www.skillsontario.com/world-record-2021
