Co-operative education receives national accreditation for 23 programs

Mohawk College’s Co-operative Education team has a lot to celebrate after receiving national accreditation through Co-operative Education Work-Integrated Learning (CEWIL) Canada, for 23 co-operative education programs at the college. The accreditation is valid until December 2028.

“This is a wonderful recognition of Mohawk College’s on-going leadership in Canadian co-operative education over the past 54 years and a testament to our quality standards,” said Vice President, Academic, Cebert Adamson. “Well done to entire Co-operative Education team at Mohawk College”

The college’s 500-page application was reviewed on its structural design, institutional context, delivery, quality standards, and on-going evaluation criteria. Mohawk College is one of 13 colleges Canada-wide to hold the accolade, which is noted in the accreditation.

Commenting on the application in its report, the National Accreditation Council said, “Our review team was unable to offer any suggestions for areas of improvements or enhancements.” One of the panel members noted that in the six years they have served on the council they cannot recall a time when this has happened during an application.
