COVID-19 Update (March 15, 2020)

Mohawk College to suspend all student placements

In light of the fast-changing circumstances around the spread of COVID-19 in the community, Mohawk College is temporarily suspending all learner and co-op placements until further notice, effective at the end of day, Sunday, March 15.

This important decision has been made with concern for the health and safety of our students and our community in mind. Clinical, Field and Co-op Placement Specialists are in the process of contacting students, placement agencies and employers today in an effort to ensure they are aware of our decision.

This notice applies to all students in internship, co-op, clinical and field placements. Students will receive more information related to their placement suspension as part of an overall program alternate completion plan for the remainder of their semester. Those plans will be communicated to students by March 19.

Mohawk College values its training partners and we look forward to working with them once operations return to normal or the conditions are in place to do so.

There are many people working hard to protect the health and safety of our college community and our students. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work together on the next steps. For specific questions related to your own placement, please contact your program areas. For general questions, please continue to contact questions@mohawkcollege.ca.
