Cyber Security Awareness Month

Cyber Security Training

October is Cyber Security Awareness Month. It is important to understand the role you play in protecting the college’s information assets.

The safety and security of our college is a top priority. One of the more serious threats we, and many others, face today is from cyber criminals. Mohawk’s Information Technology Services team works diligently to protect and secure your personal information and the college’s information technology assets.

Employees also play an important role in protecting systems and information. Knowing how to recognize threats and how to handle them will protect you, the college, and the people we care about in our community. Cyber crime has grown to become big business with cyber criminals around the globe enhancing their tactics and techniques regularly. Successful attacks against organizations, including some in higher education, are occurring more frequently.

To address this evolving threat, Information Technology is deploying refreshed mandatory cyber security awareness training for all employees available on the Working at Mohawk system. All employees are being asked to complete the training within the window below, including new employees.

All employees will receive an email notification with the training details on October 1, 2021. The online module is available now within Working at Mohawk. If you would like to get started on the training, click here.

Note: As a reminder to all staff, from time to time Information Technology conducts live phishing testing against our employees with varying degrees of sophistication mimicking real threats. This testing provides feedback to Information Technology on staff awareness and defences as well as provides in the moment learning for clickers.
