Did you know?

McIntyre Theatre dedicated 20 years ago this month

McIntyre Theatre

Did you know that the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre (a.k.a. the McIntyre Theatre) was officially dedicated in October 2001. The theatre is named in honour of Mohawk College's second president, Keith McIntyre, who served from 1980 to 1996. With a seating capacity of 1029, the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre is the second largest theatre in Hamilton with Hamilton Place being the largest. In addition to hosting numerous community events (pre COVID-19) throughout the year, the theatre is also the backdrop for Mohawk College's Convocation ceremonies. The theatre has seen some upgrades in recent years, including new seats and a new lighting system.
