Discover Justice Success Again
During the February Reading Week, Student Recruitment and Social Services and Justice Studies faculty and support staff collaborated to hold its fourth Discover Justice program awareness initiative.
This two-day event hosted over 200 grade eleven and twelve students from returning Hamilton schools and welcomed schools from Brantford, Caledonia, and Niagara Falls for the first time.
During the event, students participated in interactive and hands-on activities like a mock trial, a prisoner escort, and law enforcement fitness training. They also analyzed a fake crime scene and tested their observation and recall skills through simulated surveillance activities.
Intertwined with these hands-on exercises, current Advanced Police Studies and Paralegal students had an opportunity to talk about their program and Mohawk College experience. The event helped students learn about the Justice programs and associated careers, and the upcoming Spring Open House was promoted.
