Documentary about Mohawk College canoe build to air Cable 14 this month

Over a two-week period in July 2022, five Indigenous students from Mohawk College worked with master canoe builder Chuck Commanda and others from the college community to build a traditional birchbark canoe at the college’s Fennell campus. Canoa is a 25-minute documentary that explores the significance of the canoe, its role in Truth and Reconciliation, and the impact of this project on the students and the community. Cable 14 Hamilton will be airing the documentary on their local TV station this month. The dates and times for the broadcasts are listed below. If you are unable to watch the documentary on Cable 14, the college will be sharing it through Inside Mohawk early in the new year.
