EDH_Jinhyung Kim_December2022

For always going out of his way to support students and for the quiet leadership he provides to the International team, Jinhyung Kim is a Mohawk College Everyday Hero. Jin is a Mohawk graduate of Mohawk’s Computer Technology program and is also a former International student. As a student, Jin supported the Centre for Teaching and Learning and International teams with his technical skills, enabling the teams to grow their reporting functionalities. Following graduation he continued to work with the International team, and is now the Enrolment and Information Management Specialist. Jin is a subject matter expert in the development of complex multi-layered reports to support market development, enrolment forecasting and trending analysis. As a lifelong learner, he is always looking for ways to grow his skills and improve the experience for students and colleagues, including modernizing data analysis and identifying ways to automate workflows to reduce manual tasks. Jin has worked in the community, going out of his way to support international students settling in Hamilton, using his journey to Canada as a guide, and acting as an advocate in both the college and community. Highly respected amongst his peers, Jin is a quiet leader with a big impact – always using an intentional approach to his actions whether it relates to his work or personal aspirations. Team members feel at ease with his big smile and dry sense of humour, and his ability to solve any AV problems. A common phrase in International is “Because of you it works and because of Jin it works.”
