For her dedication to supporting our students, Carissa Bird is a Mohawk College Everyday Hero. Carissa is a member of the International Student Services team where she is temporarily filling the role of Support Officer to cover a vacancy. In addition to this, Carissa continues to work on advancing her postsecondary education. Carissa’s ability to develop and foster relationships has been a tremendous asset to the International team. She is diligent in her work, committed to supporting her team and to the students she serves. Her positive nature, student focus and collaborative spirit is an inspiration to everyone she works with. Thank you for making Mohawk a better place to learn and work, Carissa.
For everything he does support students living in residence, Paul Reifenstein is a Mohawk College Everyday Hero. Paul is the manager of our student residence. His kindness and care for his team and our college students is evident. He is always willing to support any request, and is collaborative in all decisions. Throughout the pandemic, Paul was instrumental in creating plans to keep learners safe, and he worked diligently to ensure individuals in residence continued to have a positive experience. His quiet nature and gentle manner are well received by all who work with him. Paul is well respected by all and deserves to be recognized as an Everyday Hero.
