Congratulations to the following recipients:
For her commitment to keeping the Fennell Campus clean and safe, Afternoon Shift Housekeeping Supervisor, Alejandra Genest is a Mohawk College Everyday Hero.
As an example of her dedication, Alejandra supported the health centre re-opening and COVID-19 operations. She is the one called upon when high-risk encounters occur and quick clean ups are needed to keep operations going. Alejandra is always there to help with the worst messes in the college. When the health centre was reopening she provided suggestions on supplies and exam room set up, to ensure the spaces could easily be cleaned and disinfected. She gives advice from a place of caring for employees and students.
Congratulations Alejandra!
For her commitment to keeping the Fennell Campus clean and safe, Housekeeper, Maral Barsoumian is a Mohawk College Everyday Hero.
As an example of her dedication, Maral disrupted an attempted theft of an expensive tool from one of the college's Automotive labs. The thief would have succeeded if it weren’t for the dedication and awareness of Maral. Maral noticed a garbage pail was heavier than usual and went above and beyond to investigate. In the garbage was the missing piece of equipment. Every day Maral is always friendly, cheerful and extremely pleasant to work with.
Congratulations Maral!
For her commitment to serving student and supporting her colleagues, Tracey Bailey is a Mohawk College Everyday Hero.
As an example of her dedication, Chief Advancement Officer, Tracey is the ‘go to’ person whenever members of her team are faced with a difficult challenge. Tracey listens, helps dissect problems and formulates solutions. Once apprised of the barriers within student awards and its funding model, Tracey tackled this issue by gathering background information, identifying issues, researching a solution and engaging the parties involved to ensure a successful outcome. Tracey’s efforts and leadership led to hundreds of students receiving increased funding for their awards.
Congratulations Tracey!
For his commitment to research and supporting internal and external relationships, Director of Strategic Advancement Initiatives Frank Castiglione is a Mohawk College Everyday Hero.
As an example of his dedication, Frank Castiglione has provided exceptional insight and guidance to the donor strategy for the Marshall School of Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship. Frank has led many discussions, pushed ideas and re-invented approaches for how the school can grow its donations and build partnerships with individuals and industry. Frank also supports industry partners to ensure the college has lasting relationships. Over the past year, the school has received or will be receiving significant donations due to Franks efforts.
Congratulations Frank!
