Expanded organics collection at Fennell Campus
Being sustainable just got easier!
We’re excited to share that organics collection has expanded across the Fennell Campus, making it easier than ever to contribute to sustainability efforts and help support Mohawk’s Climate Action Plan.
Green organics bins are now available in the C-Wing Cafeteria, MSA Food Court, and additional hallways and seating areas across the Fennell Campus. Sorting your food scraps and compostable items into these bins helps divert waste from landfills, reducing methane emissions—a greenhouse gas 28 times more potent than CO2.
Building on the updates at Stoney Creek Campus, organics bins are now also available across Fennell Campus, bringing this sustainable initiative to more locations across both campuses.
What goes in the green bins?
Food scraps, paper plates, napkins, wooden utensils, compostable packaging (e.g., pizza boxes, paper take-out containers), and other compostable items belong in the organics bins. Look for packaging labelled with the symbols PLA, BPI Compostable, or 100% Compostable.
Using the organics bins is a simple yet impactful step in supporting Mohawk’s Climate Action Plan. Every effort counts in helping us reduce emissions and create a more sustainable future for everyone.
