As IDEAWORKS at Mohawk College opens the 2026–2027 funding cycle, projects supported in 2025–2026 highlight the diversity of industries and challenges addressed through the program. These initiatives demonstrate how academic expertise is applied to community and industry needs while creating hands-on learning opportunities for students.
Apply for 2026–2027 Funding
Mohawk faculty and staff with applied research ideas are invited to apply for the 2026–2027 Steeves Family Innovation Fund.
The fund provides $10,000–$20,000 per project to support applied research initiatives that:
- Address industry or community challenges
- Build research capacity and partnerships
- Provide experiential learning opportunities for students
- Align with Mohawk College’s strategic research priorities
Applications for 2026–2027 funding are now open, with a deadline of Friday, March 13, 2026 at 4:00 pm.
