Faculty Spotlight: Emily Comegna

Autism and Behavioural Science program coordinator and faculty member, Emily Comegna's journey into autism therapy began unexpectedly when she shifted from pursuing a career as an elementary school teacher to working with children with autism, a role she quickly became passionate about. 

As a faculty member at Mohawk College, Emily finds immense joy in teaching and takes pride in preparing her students for impactful careers. 

A significant experience in her career was leading a group of students on a two-week trip to India in 2019, which broadened her perspective on the challenges faced by international students and highlighted the importance of real-world learning. Her program emphasizes supporting marginalized communities and fostering inclusion for individuals with disabilities. Watch Emily's story on YouTube.
