Five student photographers selected as finalists in national competition

Five Mohawk College students in the Photography Still and Motion program have been selected as finalists in the 2022 Emerge Media Awards.

The Emerge Media Awards, sponsored and hosted by the University of Guelph-Humber in Toronto, celebrate and showcase the achievements of Canadian post-secondary students in journalism, photography, graphic design and communications disciplines.

Mohawk submissions were selected as finalists in the Photojournalism, Commercial/Creative Photography and Video Short Form categories. Winners of the 2022 Emerge Media Awards will be announced on April 15.

Andres Restrepo Duarte had two submissions selected for the final judging, an image in photojournalism, No lockdown for firefighters, and a short film, Isabelle Bisnaire - Play with Clay.
