Hive-warming Party: Upgrading our bees’ homes
Join Mohawk College's Sustainability team for a special Hive-warming Party on Thursday, April 23, during Earth Week as they celebrate the Fennell campus bees moving into their beautifully upgraded, student-painted hives!
Watch the beekeeper carefully install the frames into the newly decorated boxes and help give the long-time pollinators a fresh new place to thrive.
This event will also feature an interactive, educational demonstration, where you’ll learn:
How a bee hive works
What goes on inside the boxes
Why bees are essential to our ecosystem
How we care for our campus colony
Two sessions available (45 minutes each):
• Session 1: 12:00-12:45 pm
• Session 2: 1:00-1:45pm
Space is limited—please register in advance.
Come see the bees up close, ask questions, and celebrate the amazing work of Mohawk College students and our tiny, hardworking residents.
