Though the Trafficking Awareness Event, hosted by Indigenous Student Services and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, was cancelled due to inclement weather, there was media interest in advance of the event that shone a light on this important issue, raising awareness in the community. Elizabeth Gray, an Indigenous counsellor at Mohawk College, helped to emphasize the role awareness plays in helping people avoid becoming victims.
