IDEAWORKS Update May 26, 2023

Discover new opportunities in Applied Research.
“Applied Research 101” virtual training program is now available!
In an effort by IDEAWORKS to reduce barriers to participation, faculty and staff can now enroll in the virtual program for free to learn more about applied research.
Applied Research 101: Intro to College Applied Research is a self-paced, non-credit, online program that provides registerants with tools to master the core principles of applied research, and how to plan and execute a successful project with ease.
In addition to being free of charge for all Mohawk faculty and staff, registration for the two-hour program is also complimentary for faculty and staff at any Canadian college, CEGEP, or institute.
Registration in the program can be completed at any time by visiting: https://www.mohawkcollege.ca/form/intro_to_applied_research
Funding opportunities
Funding is available for Health and Eng Tech faculty interested in working with an industry partner on a health innovation project as part of the Southern Ontario Pharmaceutical and Health Innovation Ecosystem (SOPHIE). Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. If you have a project that you think would benefit from this funding, please contact Andrea Johnson.
Planning is underway for Canada Foundation for Innovation College Fund applications for 2023 and 2024. The College Fund supports projects that enhance the capacity of Canadian colleges to carry out applied research and technology development and foster partnerships that generate innovative products, processes or services that address the social, business, health or environmental needs of a Canadian industry or community. A limited number of opportunities are available for colleges each year to apply to this fund. If your research team will benefit from this funding, please contact Gregor MacLean.
