Tell us what you do at the College?
I work at the IT Service Desk under the Corporate Services Division, leading a team responsible for providing essential technical support to students, staff, and faculty. Our primary focus is to ensure that students can transition smoothly through their academic voyage, from enrollment straight through to graduation, without bumping into significant IT-related encounters. Additionally, we support faculty and staff by operating a reliable infrastructure, allowing them to effectively conduct classes and maintain student services.
As the Team Lead, my role is to coordinate IT support across all Mohawk College campuses. I work closely with my team to ensure they have the necessary tools and resources to thrive, which directly impacts the overall operational efficiency of the College. I am fortunate to lead a group of highly professional and capable individuals who make my role rewarding and productive.
What is the one thing that makes you want to come to work each day?
The strong sense of community at Mohawk College. The collaboration and dedication of staff, students, and faculty create an exciting and supportive environment. Everyday, I see my team grow, both professionally and personally, bringing me a great sense of fulfillment. It’s very rewarding to witness ideas come to life, that simplify processes and enhance the experiences of others.
In the always changing world of IT, constant adaptation is essential. I am comfortable in navigating these challenges alongside my team. The leadership, and shared vision within the College motivate me to contribute to its success daily.
What is something your colleagues may not know about you?
Many may not know that I have written three books. What began as a childhood hobby of writing short stories has developed into a lifelong passion for writing poetry and short fiction, which I continue to pursue to this day.
