In Memory - Al Molloy

Al_Molloy

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of one of our Mohawk College colleagues, Al Molloy, on Friday March 29, 2024.  Al was an Automotive Service Technician Professor in the Motive Power department at Fennell Campus for more than 41 years.  Retiring in 2020, Al continued to connect with and inspire colleagues until his passing last week.

Al is a cherished, deeply respected colleague and mentor to dozens of faculty and staff at Mohawk College.  He will be remembered as a favoured professor and advisor to thousands of students who he engaged with over the years, making a significant and lingering impact on the professionalism and dedication of the automotive service industry.

In the words of some of Al’s colleagues who worked with him for many years: “This has hit our entire Motive Power team with much sadness as he was not only a great coworker and friend, but also a great mentor to everyone in the department,” Bob Brown, Motive Power 2nd Year Coordinator and Professor. “Al had a way of making the world make sense and a better place - planet Earth will be a much different place without him,”  Matthew Steele, 310T/310S Professor.

Al is survived by his loving wife Nancy and their beautiful family.

In memory of Al, flags at the Fennell and Stoney Creek campuses will be lowered on Thursday, April 4.

The Mohawk College Community is invited to share your thoughts and memories for Al at the following:  A Message for Al
