The International Day of Pink began in Nova Scotia after two straight high school students witnessed a gay student being bullied. The gay student was wearing a pink shirt at the time. The two students intervened, but wanted to do more to prevent homophobic and transphobic bullying. From there, International Day of Pink was created and has one purpose, to create a more inclusive and diverse world.
