Mohawk appoints new Chair, appointees to Board of Governors

Mohawk is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Pastirik as Chair of the college Board of Governors.

“Congratulations to our new Chair,” said Mohawk College President Ron McKerlie. "Your guidance and leadership will be a tremendous asset to Mohawk as we continue our important work in support of students, employees, alumni and the communities we serve.”

Paul Pastirik is currently an Executive at Bird Construction and has enjoyed a successful career in the Energy and Construction sectors, where he has held executive roles in Finance, Business Development, and Operations. He has also held board positions at Ovarian Cancer Canada, Utility Contractors Association, and the Ontario Energy Association.

“It has been an honour to serve on Mohawk’s Board of Governors for the past five years," said Mr. Pastirik. "Mohawk’s commitment to students is unparalleled and I am proud to now serve as the Chair of the Board for the college.”

Paul holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Human Resources from McMaster University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Ottawa. He became a Chartered Professional Accountant in 1982.

Mohawk College is also pleased to welcome its newest Board of Governors appointees.

Mohawk’s Board of Governors defines the mission and vision of the college. Governors play an important role in ensuring the college meets the current and future needs of its students, employees and the community it serves. Mohawk is pleased to announce the appointment of Anna Filice, Hardik Sheliya, Lisa Knap and Rocco Passero.
