Mohawk College’s Director of Security and Emergency Management, Cathy O’Donnell was recently appointed to the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) board of directors as Canadian Regional Director.

Cathy’s appointment makes her only one of two Canadian college representatives on the board, with the second being the recently appointed board president-elect Rob Kilfoyle, Director of Public Safety and Emergency Management, Humber Polytechnic. Rob will be the first Canadian to be president of the association in over 50 years when he becomes president in 2025.

For over 30 years, Cathy has dedicated her career to higher education security. She has led the security team at Mohawk College for the past eight years, focused on advancing safety and security at all of Mohawk’s campuses to better serve students, employees and visitors.

“I’m honoured and excited to represent Mohawk College and Canadian higher education security members as the Canadian Regional Director on the IACLEA board. I look forward to continuing to advance our responses to all public safety and security concerns in our educational institutions through resources, advocacy, and professional development services,” says Cathy.

Congratulations to Cathy O’Donnell on this well-deserved appointment.
