Mohawk College Secures Gold at Higher Ed AV Awards
This week, Mohawk College's AV team was recognized for their efforts in implementing sustainable and technological upgrades to our college classrooms. Patrick Angielczyk represented Mohawk at the awards ceremony and accepted the three gold medals on behalf of the college.
The 2026 Higher Education AV Awards, held on June 15, saw a record number of submissions, totalling nearly 230. A panel of judges reviewed each entry to identify this year’s top work. The organizers noted that, with such strong competition, the winners not only exceeded expectations but also raised the bar.
Mohawk College took home gold in three categories:
Best Classroom Installation Upgrade: Classroom Upgrade Featuring AVI-SPL and Q-SYS (Gold)
Best AV-over-IP Project: Classroom Standardization Featuring AVI-SPL and Q-SYS (Gold)
Best Sustainability Project: Installation featuring AVI-SPL and Q-SYS (Gold)
These awards reflect the work the team was previously recognized for through the Sustainability in AV (SAVe) certification.
