New Research Ethics Applications & Approvals Platform
We are pleased to announce that the Mohawk College Research Ethics Board (MCREB) has officially launched a new online submission platform: Synto Flows, which will be available for all research ethics submissions, starting from the 2025 Fall semester.
Synto Flows is used by several other Research Ethics Boards across Canada and will therefore ease use for researchers working across multiple institutions. Synto Flows is a centralized, user-friendly platform where researchers can:
- Submit new ethics applications for single, multi-site and course-based research;
- Respond to requests for clarification and resubmit required revisions;
- Make amendments to existing protocols; and
- Submit renewal or study closure forms.
With the transition to this improved platform, researchers will benefit from:
- A streamlined submission process; and
- Seamless access to all current and past submitted applications.
All researchers conducting research involving human participants, under the jurisdiction of Mohawk College, as per the Ethical Conduct of Research Involving Humans Policy | Mohawk College, will be required to submit their MCREB applications using the Synto Flows system, which can be found at: reb.mohawkcollege.ca.
Researchers are encouraged to log in, explore the platform, and familiarize themselves with the features. The system can be accessed using your Mohawk College Single Sign On (SSO) credentials.
