Pre-Health Advantage Pathway
On September 15, students in Semester 1 of Mohawk College’s Pre-Health program attended the Pre-Health Advantage Pathway Information Session.
The Pre-Health Advantage Pathway was launched this fall and involves 14 receiving programs at the diploma or advanced diploma level.

The Pre-Health Advantage Pathway is intended to give students in Pre-Health an “advantage” over other students applying to programs across the School of Health. These pathway opportunities were created based on feedback from students, often attending Open House, who wanted to have more pathways at the college, as well as faculty looking for ways to retain Pre-Health students who were already familiar with the college.
Pre-Health Coordinator Tara Dinyer emceed the information session, with each academic area providing a 5-minute pitch about their program. Program areas had the ability to select faculty as well as current students or grads to participate in their pitch. At the end of the session, the program representatives took part in a panel discussion where students were able to ask questions.
Dr. Anne-Marie DePape, Associate Dean, Allied Health, spoke about the advantage program and encouraged students to keep their options open.
Wendy Lawson, Associate Vice President Academic, Dean of School of Health, spoke about how dynamic health care is and how programs across the School of Health prepare students to contribute to the field by offering didactic and clinical training in a variety of settings.
