Province declares new State of Emergency and Stay-at-Home order

On Wednesday, April 7, the Ontario government declared a new State of Emergency to address the impact of COVID-19 variants on the province’s healthcare system. In addition to the emergency declaration, the government has also issued a new Stay-at-Home order that took effect at 12:01 a.m., Thursday, April 8, 2021.

The measures and restrictions announced Wednesday will not impact the remainder of the Winter 2021 semester for Mohawk students.

Mohawk will remain open for in-person learning with current health and safety protocols in place.

Travel to and from campus for the purposes of attending in-person learning or supporting the delivery of in-person learning is deemed as essential and is not subject to the province’s Stay-at-Home order.

Co-op and Placement activities will continue without interruption unless advised by the co-op specialist or field placement specialist assigned to the program. Please refer any questions to your program’s co-op or placement specialist.

Please note that, effective as of Friday, March 26, the college changed the requirements for Personal Protective Equipment at all campuses. Information on the new requirements can be found here.
