PSW Students Thank You

Thank you for scrubbing in for the PSWs.  We successfully raised $10,891 to support  218 PSW students with their first uniforms.

On May 19, National PSW Day, Mohawk College and FRPP partners, Schlegel Villages and the Thrive Group, celebrated PSWs education, students and alumni. The goal of $10,000 was surpassed with a closing amount of $10,891, collected through an online campaign.

PSW over goal

Mohawk College aims to produce future-ready personal support workers, armed with compassion and updated skills to meet the needs of our stressed health care system. PSWs represent the largest workforce in health care and the professional group that spends the most time with patients and clients.

Donor Profile

Thanks to our donors, the entire incoming class of the program will receive their first uniform without cost. Thanks to Alumna Annette Hamm, who wore scrubs for us, and journalism professor Sam Cook, who told her story and shared the resources she’s developed boosting our public engagement through social media. Thanks to the many leaders and faculty who wore scrubs and made donations to this important campaign.

Together, we are creating a future where Mohawk trained PSWs fill a critical role to ensure our community members can continue to live safely and independently in their homes as they age.
