EDI Course 2: Inclusion at Mohawk

This course provides an understanding of the ways in which Mohawk College has advanced along the continuum of inclusion as an organization. Participants will consider Mohawk’s current and future commitments to equity and inclusion, and their responsibilities therein. 

EDI Course 3: Looking Inward

The goal of the session is to provide participants an opportunity to consider the biases that they bring to bear on the work that they do, the ways their own identities impact them in different contexts at work, and the strategies they can employ to mitigate their own biases and those they have to confront, within their own sphere of control.

Fostering Queer and Trans-Inclusive Environments at Work and Beyond

On March 28th  from 1 pm, we will be hosting a workshop on "Fostering Queer and Trans-Inclusive Environments in the Workplace and Beyond". This interactive session will help you gain a deeper understanding of 2SLGBTQIA communities and how to foster more affirming spaces at work (and beyond) that celebrate the dignity of queer and trans people.

You'll learn common terms used by and for 2SLGBTQIA communities, discuss the importance of using and respecting people’s pronouns, learn about discrimination on the ground of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, and will explore best practices on how to be an ally to 2SLGBTQIA communities.
