A Time of Transition

fall leaves

Summer is often a time for relaxation, outdoor activities, and connecting with family and friends, which can help renew our mental well-being. As summer ends and September begins, many people face new routines, responsibilities, and goals that require adjustment and preparation.

While some people adapt easily to these changes, others may find the transition stressful. The shift from the slower pace of summer to the demands of September can create feelings of pressure and overwhelm, making it an important time to recognize and manage stress. Stress can show up in our bodies, thoughts and feelings, and behaviour.

September can be a stressful period of transition, but by recognizing stress early, practicing healthy coping strategies, staying connected, and seeking support when needed, people can move beyond simply coping and thrive during times of change.

Homewood Health, our Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) provider, offers a variety of resources and tools to support mental health, wellness, and overall well-being.
