Visitors experience Skyworld during research showcase

The McMaster Indigenous Research Institute’s annual research showcase recently highlighted a collaborative project between the university and Mohawk College. Skyworld, an immersive VR experience, tells the Indigenous creation story of Sky Woman during a canoe journey down the Grand River as the world transforms. The project, which was featured in Momentum magazine earlier this year, was conceived as a way to connect with Indigenous youth and get them interested in the Great Lakes and its waterways.
