Why Spending Time in Nature Feels So Good

woman in the woods

Spending time in nature can improve mental well-being, reduce stress, boost mood, and help restore focus. Nature is more accessible than many people realize and can be enjoyed in parks, gardens, neighbourhoods, or even from a balcony or backyard.

Even short outdoor activities, such as taking a walk, having coffee outside, or sitting by the water, can provide benefits. There is no right way to connect with nature, and people of all abilities can enjoy accessible outdoor spaces.

It is important to embrace curiosity, notice the natural world around you, and take advantage of the unique experiences each season offers to support overall well-being.

Homewood Health, our Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) provider, offers a variety of resources and tools to support mental health, wellness, and overall well-being.
