Announcement: Ontario Funding 40,000 New Postsecondary Seats (Video)

Announced this week, the Ontario government has allocated 40,000 new funded seats at publicly assisted colleges and universities. This allocation is part of a broader $1.7 billion investment to create an additional 70,000 postsecondary seats in high-demand fields across Ontario.

Colleges and universities worked with their local communities and industries to identify programs that will prepare students for in-demand jobs and meet regional labour market needs.

For Mohawk College, this support will help us continue aligning and expanding programs in areas where skilled talent is most needed, creating more opportunities for students while helping employers address critical workforce needs.

The college will see approximately 1,400 new seats across programs in areas such as health and skilled trades. More details will be confirmed at a later date.
