Cardiovascular Technology student named provincial scholarship winner
Mohawk College Cardiovascular Technology student Yoona Kim was recently honoured by the Ontario Society of Cardiology Technologists (OSCT) as the winner of the inaugural Dr. Robert Brown Scholarship.
OSCT called Yoona a passionate and dedicated CVT student. “This was clear in her scholarship submission, which went above and beyond, showing the Board just how motivated she is to work as an RCT once she graduates,” the organization wrote in social media posts announcing her recognition.
“This achievement would not have been possible without the invaluable guidance and support of my professors and the encouragement of my peers in this exceptional program,” Yoona commented. “I would like to express my gratitude to all the professors in this program for their passion and dedication.”
Dr. Robert Brown was a London-based cardiologist in London who recognized the profound role a Cardiology Technologist plays in cardiology and generously bequeathed funds for this scholarship in his estate.
As part of her application, Yoona had to provide letters of recommendation and a brief reflection that outlined why she wants to be a RCT and how she plans to remain passionate about the profession.
Congratulations, Yoona, on representing yourself and the Mohawk College Cardiovascular Technology program so well.
