Rethink Resource, North America’s most comprehensive and environmentally friendly waste management company, highlighted the assistance they received through the Low Carbon Readiness Program (LCRP) offered by Mohawk College’s Centre for Climate Change Management (CCCM) and the Energy & Power Innovation Centre (EPIC).

Rethink Resource specializes in providing innovative, data-driven solutions to complex waste challenges across industries as diverse as foodservice and hospitality, film and television, and the construction industries.

Shane Harker, Founder and President of Rethink Resource shared the results of the collaboration with Mohawk College IDEAWORKS Centres, which involved quantifying Scope 3 emissions in their waste diversion and management processes, and emphasizing carbon emissions saved from diverting wastes from landfill and instead to feeding livestock or through anaerobic digestion.

Mr. Harker’s feature, entitled 4 Ways to Decarbonize the Waste Industry, is published on the Clean50 website.
