Celebration of Life for Dr. Wayne Poirier
On July 2, 2026 Dr. Wayne Joseph Poirier passed at the age of 53.
Former colleagues and friends are invited to attend his Celebration of Life on Sunday, September 27, for an afternoon of shared stories, music, memories and remembrance. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP by September 17.
Wayne believed deeply in the power of education and the difference it can make in a person’s life. In his memory, the Dr. Wayne Poirier Bursary has been established by a dear friend and colleague. It will provide financial support to a Mohawk College student experiencing financial need as they pursue their education and build their future. Help us grow that bursary so even more Mohawk College students experiencing financial need can receive support for generations to come.

Wayne has already been laid to rest with his father and brother at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 600 Spring Gardens Road in Burlington, ON.
