Four Mountaineer teams ranked nationally by CCAA
Four Mohawk Mountaineers varsity teams are featured in the latest CCAA national rankings, as of October 27.
The Mohawk men's basketball team leads the way at No. 3 nationally after finishing fourth at last season's national championship. The Mountaineers have carried that momentum into the 2026-27 season, opening with a 2-0 record.
The women's soccer team sits at No. 8 for the second consecutive week and has appeared in the national rankings in seven of eight weeks this season. The Mountaineers posted an 8-0-2 regular-season record and are preparing for the OCAA semifinals on Saturday, marking the program's first appearance in the semifinals since 2005. Mohawk will face the No. 7 nationally ranked Seneca Sting at 3 p.m. in Scarborough, Ont.
The women's basketball team is ranked No. 12 nationally after opening the season with a win. The program has earned a podium finish at the OCAA championship in each of the past two seasons.
The CCAA did not release updated cross country rankings Tuesday. As of the previous week, the Mohawk women's cross country team sat at No. 10 nationally. The Mountaineers will compete at the OCAA Cross Country Championships on Oct. 31 in London, Ont.
While historical data is unavailable to confirm the last time Mohawk had four teams ranked nationally at the same time, the Mountaineers have had three teams simultaneously ranked on multiple occasions over the past six years.
