Hello from India

A group of Autism and Behavioural Science students from Mohawk College are in India this week to support the Global Autism Project. The group is in northern India where they are working with local teachers to support students with Autism.

Mohawk's Autism program teaches students how behaviour analysis can be used to teach skills that can improve quality of life for individuals with Autism and their families. Students study evidence-based treatments and examine how those treatments are used to teach children with autism. They also design, implement and evaluate behavioural strategies and learn how to train caregivers to implement educational techniques with their children.

According to the Global Autism Project, there are more than 90 million people with Autism worldwide, and more than 85% live in developing countries.

Three Mohawk Photography students are travelling with the group to document the experience as part of a Global Experience General Education course.
