High resolution 3D modelling promises to improve efficiency and productivity

Mohawk students make 3D scans of company's steelmaking operations

A small group of Mohawk College students, under the direction of Construction Sciences Professor Richard Borger, have been working with Hamilton's ArcelorMittal Dofasco on a project to provide the steelmaker with 3D scans of its steelmaking operations. The data will be used to create 3D models that could help the company with everything from employee training to providing virtual access to contractors.

The project was recently featured in the company's One Magazine. You can read the article here: http://arcelor-mittal.aewebapps.com/issues/1-magazine-vol11-no4/index.html#p=6
