ICF Special Funding Call for Applied Research Projects in Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Due to the rapid growth and need for AI expertise within industry, government, and other partners, IDEAWORKS is launching a special funding call that will help build the college’s capacity to undertake AI-focused applied research projects. Faculty and staff at Mohawk College with expertise in AI are invited to apply for up to $15,000 of project seed funding through the IDEAWORKS Catalyst Fund.

This project seed funding can be used to support a first-time collaboration between an emerging researcher and an applied research partner who has never collaborated on a project with the college.

Please note the following:

• Your project must be focused on supporting a partner solve a specific project through applied research that leverages your expertise in AI.
• The deadline to submit an application for this special funding call is November 1, 2024.
• All projects must be completed between December 1, 2024 and March 31, 2025. There will be no extensions to this timeline.
• If you have received or have currently received seed funding through the ICF program, your eligibility will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
• It is required that you complete IDEAWORKS’ Applied Research 101. It will take a few hours to complete.
