Meet an IDEAWORKS Student Researcher

Meet Rachel Strohschien, a Mohawk College student, who, while working as a research assistant in the Additive Manufacturing and Innovation Centre (AMIC), had the opportunity to help produce PPE for frontline workers.“I’m proud and happy to be able to be making a contribution and help out, no matter how small. We all try to be as useful as possible and if everyone gives and does their part, we can only benefit from it all. Everything regarding the pandemic has happened very quickly but also naturally, and the entire team has responded without question. It did however require us to rethink the way we work and our processes for certain things. This has been a time where we asked ourselvescollectively how to use our skills to the best of their abilities and in a way that optimizes all the tools we have available. It is good to see that when there is an emergency, we are all to all work together and produce what is mostneeded and help out.”
