Jill of all Trades
For the first time ever, Mohawk College is excited to announce a Jill of all Trades event at the Stoney Creek campus on Thursday, October 12th, 2023.
To make the event a great success we need volunteers and would love for you to join us. More than 120 young high school women will join us to experience their choice of 3 of the 12 featured skilled trades workshops.
Volunteers just need to provide energy and excitement in the following areas:
Floaters are volunteers who help with the Candy Bar, registration, handing out t-shirts, toe caps, and safety equipment, and being available throughout the day to assist where necessary.
Mentors will be located at one of the workshop areas for the day and will help our faculty and young adults complete their take-home project or on-site activity. They will try to match your work areas with the workshop you’d be helping in. Please include the industry you currently work within so they know where you might like to be.
You just need to help us create a friendly and optimistic environment, so let’s all put your happy faces on and prepare for a great day of mentorship and fun!
Time commitment - 7:30am until 4:00pm on October 12th – assisting with setup and take-down and assigned volunteer roles during the day.
Parking on campus will be free.
Refreshments and Food will be provided as a light breakfast, snacks, and lunch. We encourage all volunteers to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day.
Training dates will be sent shortly with more information about the event and your volunteer role.
