Mandatory eye protection no longer required in classrooms and labs starting Monday

Effective Monday, October 18, the mandatory use of eye protection will no longer be required in classrooms and labs, with the exception of spaces where it is a normal part of program delivery.

The evidence is clear. COVID-19 vaccines work and those who are vaccinated are much less likely to catch or transmit the virus to others. This change is the result of high vaccination rates among students and employees who are coming to campus and the reduced risk of COVID-19 transmission on campus.

Mohawk will continue to monitor the situation closely and update the campus community if anything changes.

All other PPE requirements and health protocols remain in place, including the mandatory use of college-supplied masks, daily health screening and the requirement to comply with Mohawk’s vaccination policy.

For more information on current health protocols visit the Campus Access section of the COVID-19 website. This information can change so please check the site often to make sure you are up to date on the current requirements.
