Mohawk appoints Cebert Adamson as Vice President, Students, International and Alumni

Mohawk College is pleased to announce the appointment of Cebert Adamson as Vice President, Students, International and Alumni.

Since joining the college in 2014, Cebert has demonstrated his significant leadership expertise, resulting in several promotions that have provided him an ever-increasing portfolio and expanded oversight and responsibilities at the college.

“Throughout his time at Mohawk, Cebert has embodied the values held by the college, and has exemplified the qualities of a motivational and visionary leader who embraces change in a complex environment," said Paul Armstrong, Mohawk College's Chief Operating Officer. "Everyone who knows Cebert understands his passion and commitment for providing students with a quality education and exceptional service.”

Cebert brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He served as Executive Director of the Council of Community Colleges of Jamaica, where he led the development of the agency’s strategic plan and implementation. He also served as Human Resources Development Manager with the University ofTechnology, Jamaica, and as a faculty member at Knox Community College, and as an adjunct faculty member with various postsecondary institutions in Jamaica and Canada. An experienced senior educator and educational administrator, Cebert brings extensive knowledge, experience, and successes related to developing and managing quality assurance systems, large multi-functional teams, curriculum development and professional development, all contributing to quality student experiences.

Cebert holds a Doctorate of Education from William Howard Taft University. He also has a Masters of Science – Teaching and Learning from Nova Southeastern University, and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education (Hons) and a Diploma in Business Education (Teacher Training Certification) from the College of Arts, Science and Technology (now UTECH), a Certificate in Quality Control (for Educational Institutions) from City College, Birmingham, UK, as well as several other certifications. He is a current member of the Ontario Learn Board of Management, the Heads of Quality Management in Ontario Colleges and the College Degree Operating Group.
