Mohawk College has a new baby!

Babyworks3

It's a girl! Weighing in at 7 pounds and 19 inches, she is the first baby of the new year at Mohawk's Institute for Applied Health Sciences.

Through the power of philanthropy, Mohawk College was able to purchase a state-of-the-art baby simulator and we need you to help us find a name! Names will be accepted until Monday, January 15, 2024 and the baby's name will be announced by Friday, January 26, 2024.

In the ever-evolving field of medical imaging, hands-on experience is an invaluable learning opportunity.  Mohawk College students in both cardiac sonography and general sonography have the opportunity to learn about pediatric scanning in the classrooms. The realistic state of the art baby simulator will be an effective training tool for pediatric and neonatal ultrasound.

This simulator revolutionizes the traditional learning approach, offering students an immersive opportunity to apply their knowledge without compromising patient safety. This safe and controlled environment allows students to build confidence in a low pressure environment.

Check in next week for the full story on how  students learning experience is enhanced with the Babyworks baby.
