“We are excited to be the host site for Nationals and will ensure that the little things are done right, and that the participants leave with the memory of a first-class experience” said Matt Ferreira, the Mountaineers’ Director of Athletics and Recreation. “This is a welcoming opportunity to showcase the new era of Mountaineers Athletics to the rest of Canada.”

The confidence in the institution and athletic department at Mohawk is at an all-time high, and the department boasts a thorough understanding of what it takes to run a national event.

“We are thrilled for the opportunity to host and compete at the CCAA Nationals as we step into a new era of high-performance athletics at Mohawk College,” said Ray Williams, co-head coach of the Mountaineers women’s basketball program.

Over the last decade, Hamilton has become an epicentre for basketball and this tournament will provide an opportunity to bring the basketball community together.

“I am excited for the upcoming journey that will prepare our girls to compete on the National stage in our hometown,” said Mihai Raducanu, co-head coach of the Mountaineers program.

Tournament action will begin on March 15 with all four quarterfinal games taking place throughout the day.

The four days of action will conclude on Mar. 18 with a bronze medal game followed by the gold medal championship.
