More EVs in Mohawk’s Fleet

Fleet Vehicles

Mohawk College is leading the way towards a low carbon future with more electric vehicles (EVs) in its fleet. The college’s green fleet policy means that as gas-powered vehicles age and are retired, they are replaced with more climate-friendly alternatives. The Business Services team have been implementing Mohawk’s Fleet Management Policy which calls for the procurement of low-emission or high fuel efficiency vehicles with a strong preference for battery electric vehicles. Today the vehicle fleet is 50% either hybrid or fully electric, up from 25% in 2018. These changes are helping the college reach its Climate Action Plan target to reduce emissions from college-associated travel.
